"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

Thanks. I was really surprised I was the first one to say anything along those lines. I don't think the contest is evil or anything, but people need to realize what they're participating in. ...
And it is kinda funny.
I was going to embroil us in an epic argument about moral relativity which ranges from Silent Hill to Dead Silence to (t.c.f.k.a.) Dark Horse, because I disagreed with your comments on the Dead Silence contest. But then I thought about it some more, and I agree with you completely. So, damn. Thanks for pushing me to think about it.
But really though, how do our own concerns about advertising compare to this?
